“design deutschland case study 08” is the most recent exhibition organised by the German Design Council as part of the series “Design Deutschland”. The generic terms material, position, function, system and tool, which were characteristic for the development of German design and are still valid today, were chosen as topics. The architectural system constructiv CLIC took up its place under the term function. The ambiguous English term “case study” refers to the specific presentation of objects in transport boxes as well as the case study “design deutschland”. At the same time a tradition of values in modern German design can be observed: design as problem solving for humans. To accompany the exhibition, a catalogue comprising 48 pages including all the exhibits displayed in Nuremberg will be published.
Venue: New Museum, State Museum for Art and Design in Nuremberg, Klarissenplatz, 90402 Nuremberg Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
