The exhibition "formvollendet" (perfect in form) shows the collection of aesthetic, mathematically defined forms of Prof. Martin Hess. The exhibition has been designed by FB 2 students of FH Dusseldorf supervised by Prof. Andreas Uebele. "formvollendet" was supported Burkhardt Leitner constructiv with the architectural system constructiv CLIC and by our sales partner Klartext Grafik Messe Event GmbH in Wilich.By means of pictures, drawings and descriptions wonderful, precisely definable forms are displayed at the exhibition. The structure and regularities, which form the basis of these forms can be recognised. Surprising links between geometrical forms and forms of nature are revealed. Architects, industrial and communication designers design new products every day. If nature is regarded as a product, she is also the best designer. Those, who deal with the forms of nature, inevitably get to geometry, one field of mathematics. Although mathematics is accepted as the basis of science - since its origins with Plato and the Pythagoreans it is still linked to the question of the beautiful appearance, a theorie of ideas - it often only gets little response from designers. In geometry, we not only find forms, which are beautiful in the usual sense but also a higher beauty, a kind of strict, perfectly natural rightness, independent of people's tastes. A lot of forms, structures and regularities can be found in nature, a fact, which can be regarded as proof for objective agreement.Catalogue: ISBN 3-7212-0551-0 |
