To bring art into daily life and thus to overcome the modern separation of art and everyday culture, Burkhardt Leitner constructiv seeks to open new paths for its company culture. And finds ways to involve even throwaway items of company communication in the artistic process. Instead of using the Post Office’s anonymous, bureaucratic metered postage, the company imprints its business correspondence with its own personal design. Burkhardt Leitner constructiv’s artist friends create individual company metered-postage emblems, with new motifs quarterly. The limited period of use and the impermanence of the envelope as a means of transport become the conditions and essence of an art form that regards itself as temporary, reflecting the self-understanding of Burkhardt Leitner constructiv’s temporary architecture and thus becoming an integral component of the company culture.
A collection of these artistically-designed metered-postage motifs is touring Germany as a traveling exhibition.
